Chestnut Knoll Donates $400 to
Boyertown Fire Companies

Chestnut Knoll Employee receives
Martin Luther King, Jr. Award

Jennifer Varady, a Chestnut Knoll Care Assistance Supervisor, was awarded a Martin Luther King, Jr. Recognition Award for Direct Care service providers.  Ms. Varady received this award by the Alzheimer’s Association of Delaware Valley for her exemplary care of Alzheimer’s patients. The awards ceremony took place on January 21, 2008 at Overbrook Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. Ms. Varady has worked for Chestnut Knoll for seven years, and was promoted from Assistant Supervisor to Supervisor of Care Assistance. She has attended numerous training seminars for Alzheimer’s patient care.

Chestnut Knoll Raises $14,656
for Alzheimers Association

Chestnut Knoll Assisted Living and At Home Services Memory Walk team once again raised the most donations of any team participating in the 2007 Berks/Lehigh Valley Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk in October. This year, the Chestnut Knoll team raised $14,656; this achievement marks the third year that the Chestnut Knoll team raised the most funds of all Memory Walk teams, having raised $12,270 in 2006. Jodie Daniels, Assistant Executive Director, stated “our employees are very committed to fighting the disease of Alzheimer’s, and that is why we have such great success in raising funds for the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk. Chestnut Knoll’s Evergreen Program provides activities and therapies for people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, so we are very aware of the impact these diseases have on both the patient and the family. We want to help the Alzheimer’s Association any way we can.”
