Memory Care in Boyertown

We understand that being a caregiver for a loved one living with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia or memory loss can be physically, mentally and financially draining. Yet, making a move to a senior living community is hard. At Chestnut Knoll Personal Care and Memory Care, we want you to be confident you’ve made the best choice.

Chestnut Knoll provides a warm and nurturing environment to help support those with memory impairment from Alzheimer’s disease or related dementias. Our highly structured and secured environment is designed to promote independence, socialization and quality of life, while maintaining the resident’s dignity through a success-oriented “typical day.” Through our commitment and on-going training, we are able to enhance the lives of our residents through our personalized care plans.

Jennelle Jamison, director of staff development and resident care at Chestnut Knoll received her Trainer Certification in Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach™ to Care. As a trainer, she will train others in the PAC philosophy, providing dementia related awareness, knowledge and skill development in a classroom, community or support group setting. This training, which Jennelle has shared with the staff at Chestnut Knoll, emphasizes making use of the skills retained, while providing support and substituting our (the care provider’s) skill, for what is no longer available (within a resident.)

FOX Optimal Living is part of our Memory Care neighborhood too!  Because minds lose memory, but muscles don't lose memory.

Teepa Snow’s Positive Approach™ to Care

Teepa Snow is one of America’s leading educators on dementia. Her philosophy is reflective of her diverse education, work experience, medical research, and firsthand caregiving interactions. Recognizing the unique needs of each person and highlighting their skills, while providing support, is OUR philosophical approach to all relationships.

With over 5 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s disease—and projected to grow—is why Chestnut Knoll believes continuous training is extremely important.

More importantly, a Positive Approach to Care and The GEMS®: Brain Change Model is the standard for all our caregivers’ interactions with residents. Changing the approach to memory care is how Chestnut Knoll is making a huge impact to the quality of care for your loved one living with Alzheimer’s disease or dementia.

Resident and Family Reviews

After Joan had settled in for a few weeks, I wrote the following note: "I stopped in to see Joan yesterday; she seemed to be doing very well. My take is she is more aware, involved, and overall in better surroundings. Chestnut Knoll has created an environment much more open and positive than any other facility I have seen. I am very thankful to you for easing and coordinating the process of getting Joan to Chestnut Knoll. I believe Joan is happy and in the care of exceptional professionals. My sincere thanks to the entire staff."
